ATF Student Recognition 2019-2020  

The ATF and its teachers would like to recognize the following outstanding students from the 2019-2020 school year.  Below, our ATF teachers shared about their exemplary students.   

 Damascus High School  

Automotive Technology- Mr. Ortiz's Class  

Michael Harris (Senior)  

Michael has been in the Automotive Technology Program (I, II, and III) since 2017 at Damascus High School. This year, he served as a mentor to second-year automotive students. Michael was always very helpful and was willing to do anything that is asked of him. He led by example through his willingness to try and complete all assignments.

Edison High School

Autobody 1- Mr. Petro's Class  

Kristian Ruschell (Senior)

Kristian was one of the many extraordinary students class this year.  Not only did he have a love for the class, but Kristian enjoyed mentoring and helping his fellow classmates.  He was a genius with the computer and helped solve technology issues within the class.  Kristian went above and beyond what the average student would do.  He came to all of the "extra" events in the program, including "Back to School Nights", "Open Houses", and every car sale.  His effort was appreciated by all who participated and attended.  Kristian's attitude and work ethic will help him ensure a successful future.

Auto Tech 1- Mr. Bergmann's Class  

John Collins (Junior)

John always came to class with a great attitude. He attempted any task and asked questions to enhance his learning. John worked well independently and in collaborative settings. He had good attendance and strong academics. John works hard and strives to learn all aspects of automotive technology.

Auto Tech 1- Mr. Ivey's Class  

Gabriel Alvarez

Gabriel Alvarez was an extraordinary student. He always asked for help when needed and completed all assignments.  Gabriel always worked hard on his lab projects and he always pushed himself to do his best.

Auto Tech 2- Mr. Page's Class  

Jason Vasquez (Senior)

Over the past two years, Jason would always do anything that was asked of him.  Jason earned high marks in both years of the Auto Tech. program.  He always completed the more advanced tasks in the auto lab/shop. Using his problem solving skills, Jason thought outside of the box and usually found solutions to the problems.

Auto Body- Mr. Lester's Class  

Trent Bright (Junior)

Trent was a very hard working and talented student. He was always on task and worked well with others. Whether engaging in independent or collaborative work, Trent was a hardworking and motivated student.

Auto. Technology- Mr. Hochtman's Class  

Travis Martinez (Senior)

Travis was always on-task and actively working on cars. He followed directions very well, and showed he mastered skills when performing repairs on our shop cars.
