This user-centered environment provides unlimited access to print and digital resources, a responsive staff, and physical and online gathering spaces to help each person achieve their academic and personal goals and inspire a lifelong love of reading and learning.
Our Media Center
Join us in the Media Center! We have tons of books, ebooks, audiobooks and resources to share with you. We also host book clubs, lunchtime activities and games, and special programs. Don't forget about Book Wars and the Black-Eyed Susan Book Award program!

Book Wars - A Book Trivia Contest for MCPS Middle Schools
Join the Baker Book Wars Club! We are the 2021 GRAND CHAMPIONS for MCPS and welcome all students interested in reading! Our 2022 Book List is filled with lots of fun and exciting titles. Look for more information about our lunchtime club in September!
Black-Eyed Susan Book Award Program
Join more than 80,000 Maryland students as they read and vote for their favorite nominated book. Here is the complete list of nominees.
Students must read a minimum of 3 Black Eyed Susan books in one of the four categories (middle reads, quick reads, challenge reads, or graphic novels) to earn a certificate and to vote for their favorite. Students who meet the requirements will be invited to a voting celebration in April.

Common Sense Media empowers parents, teachers, and students by providing unbiased information, trusted advice, and innovative tools to help them harness the power of media and technology. Common Sense Media helps families make smart media choices. We offer the largest, most trusted library of independent age-based and educational ratings and reviews for movies, games, apps, TV shows, websites, books, and music. Our Parent Concerns and Parent Blog help families understand and navigate the problems and possibilities of raising children in the digital age.

In School Hours
Before School
We are open Monday-Friday from 7:50-8:10 AM.
Any student visiting the media center after 8:10 AM must have a pass from their teacher.
During School
Students may come to the media center with a pass from a teacher.
Lunch
On select days students may eat lunch in the media center. Get a pass from the Security Guards in the cafeteria and come to the media center for the lunch period. Some days passes are not available to students because of media center or school activities.
After School
The media center hosts many after school clubs throughout the school year. Students may also visit the library quickly to check-out or return any books prior to their bus leaving.
