Green Team
The Bethesda Elementary Green Team helps to increase awareness of proper recycling procedures and conserving energy. Fifth grade students serve as members of the Green Team.
They serve the school community by collecting recycling on a weekly basis, as well as monitoring conservation of energy and materials. The monitoring is done through a series of campaigns that take place during the school year. The students also write and present short "commercials" for BETV in conjunction with campaigns, such as "Trashless Thursday Lunches" and Earth Week.
These students volunteer for this job. Reliability and self initiative are important character traits for the Green Team. Students must use good judgment and interpersonal skills as they carry out their weekly duties. Most importantly, our Green Team members gain a sense of satisfaction knowing that they are actively contributing to the betterment of the environment.
