Hello, I am excited for amazing year teaching physical education and health at Briggs Chaney. Prior to Briggs Chaney, I was a math teacher at Richard Montgomery High school for 9 years and Sherwood high school for 1 year. I attended University of Maryland, College Park for Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Master’s Degree in Education. I continued my education pursuing another master’s degree in family and marriage counseling in Liberty University. As a mother of a young child, I understand how important a positive school experience is and will provide a fun, active, and knowledgeable learning experience for you. My goal is to help you to become a better version of yourself physically and mentally each year. Let’s have a great school year!

Hello Briggs Chaney Bears! I was born and raised in South Central Pennsylvania, where I played three varsity sports at Delone Catholic High School. My undergraduate studies were completed at Slippery Rock University where I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Health Education. I was active in Club sports at Slippery Rock and enjoy playing field hockey. I later completed my Master’s Degree in Health Education at Towson University. In 1989 I started my teaching career teaching Physical Education at St. Mary’s Elementary school in Annapolis. Md. I have been teaching in Montgomery County Public Schools since 1994. One year at Farquhar Middle School and 24 years’ at Briggs Chaney Middle. During these years I have enjoyed coaching girls Basketball, Soccer, Field Hockey and Cross Country at both the middle and High school levels. I am honored to be a part of such a hard working and dedicated staff here at Briggs Chaney Middle. I feel that Phys. Ed. and Health classes are a vital part of a child’s growth and development and I hope I can instill that “lifelong” importance to the students here at Briggs Chaney! When I am not teaching, I enjoy family time with my husband and two children. I also enjoy jogging, biking, golfing, kayaking and cooking . I look forward to improving your students’ physical, mental and social well-being ! Go BEARS!
