Hello Cabin John Middle School community! This is my third year at CJMS and I am excited to be a part of such a wonderful community. I am a Montgomery County product through and through. I was born, raised and graduated in MCPS. This will be my 16th year as an educator in MCPS. Prior to my current position, I was a P.E. and Health teacher, 8th and 6th grade team leader, Restorative Justice Coordinator and Assistant School Administrator. I have a passion for relationship building and equity in education. A little bit about my personal life, I am happily married with 2 young children and love any and all sports! I am proud to be a Cabin John cougar and serve this community of learners. Looking forward to another great school year!

Message to the community:
Greetings Cabin John Middle School community! This school year will be my third year as a Cabin John Cougar, and I feel incredibly privileged to serve this community and our students and families. I am originally from a small town outside of Scranton, Pennsylvania, and after graduating from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, I moved to Montgomery County to teach. This will be my 16th year as an educator in MCPS. Prior to serving as an assistant principal here at CJMS, I was the Academy Coordinator and an IB teacher at John F. Kennedy High School; a consulting teacher in the Office of Human Resources and Development; Project SUCCESS teacher at Argyle Magnet Middle School (AMMS); social studies content specialist and team leader at AMMS; and prior to that served as a social studies teacher at Sligo Middle School to start my career in MCPS. My core values are kindness, empathy, and integrity: having “traveled” with this amazing group of 8th graders for two straight years, I consider us to be a family! Within any family, there will be ups and downs, and I believe the most important thing for us to work toward this year so that we may all #FinishStrong is to consistently show kindness toward our selves and others, seek to understand others from their perspectives, and to always do the right thing no matter if someone is looking. My wife and I live in Wheaton, Maryland, and we have one wonderful daughter who is going to be four in the fall. With all this said, I am super excited for this school year and for our 8th graders to #FinishStrong!

Hello Cabin John Middle School community! This is my first year at CJMS and I am excited to be a part of this amazing school community. I was born and raised in South Carolina. I am a proud South Carolina State University Bulldog! I moved to the area for graduate study at The George Washington University. I have taught science at the middle and high school levels. I have been a Science Content Specialist for the past 13 years. I value building and sustaining positive relationships, equity in education, and providing students with tools to reach their highest potential. I enjoy hiking around local parks, watching movies, and dining out. I am looking forward to a stellar school year!
