Chaperone Volunteer Requirements
- For chaperone and volunteer requirements, go to the MCPS website and type Volunteer in the Search bar then click on Volunteer. The volunteer/chaperone requirements, including the online Child Abuse and Neglect Training and COVID-19 vaccination attestation, are in the gray and teal boxes. The Child Abuse and Neglect Training for volunteers/chaperones is required every three years.
- There are additional requirements for volunteers/chaperones who attend extended-day/out-of-area field trips when the return time of the field trip is after 7:00 p.m. These volunteers/chaperones must be fingerprinted and have a background check by appointment with the MCPS fingerprinting office. (See Fingerprinting and Background Screening Information for Volunteers and Chaperones). Names of parents who are cleared are on the Chevy Chase School Fingerprinting google sheets. These sheets will be shared with teachers whose students are attending extended-day/out-area field trips.
