Welcome to Clearspring Elementary School
We have approximately 550 students enrolled in Pre-K, Head Start through grade five. We take great pride in our dynamic programming in all areas of the building.
Our School Vision
Clearspring community creates a welcoming environment in which all members collaborate in rigorous instruction to create a caring, diverse, community of life-long learners.
We have four Elementary Learning Center classes and five classes for the Center for Enriched Studies. Our staff is dedicated to meeting the needs of all students in order to meet the rigorous standards of a quality education in Montgomery County Public Schools. Our teachers collaborate weekly to plan for differentiated instruction. We meet monthly in grade level teaching and learning conferences to analyze student data and plan for additional small group instruction that includes reteaching and acceleration strategies. Our para-professionals work diligently with teachers to strengthen the academic skills of our students.
This is our eleventh year of participation in PBIS , http://www.pbis.org/ (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports). This behavioral program teaches students appropriate behavior by rewarding them when they demonstrate these behaviors. The students can earn tangible (school supplies) as well as non-tangible items (lunch bunches with staff, sitting in the teachers chair for the day, etc.). The ultimate goal is for desired behaviors to become intrinsic.
We have a very involved PTA, https://clearspringpta.com/ and you are encouraged to join and be involved in your child’s education. We are looking forward to working with you and having a great year at Clearspring!
