THE GHS WRITING CENTER
The GHS Writing Center, located in lab 2003, is operated by Leslie Fowler for students to work on homework, college essays, and test preparation:
- at lunchtime,
- during ShowTime
- after school from 2:30 to 3:00pm.
In addition, Robert Harper is available in the Media Center every day except Friday until 3:30.
The Writing Center offers resource materials and conducts mini workshops on pre-writing and brainstorming, thesis statements, the research paper, formal and informal writing, resume and cover letters, job applications, and college essays.
WRITE AFTER SCHOOL
A pilot program that is separate but related to the GHS Writing Center, Write After School provides one-on-one assistance to selected students in grades 9-12. Students focus on completing specific homework assignments and test preparation on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:00 to 5:00pm in lab 2003.
