Black Lives Matter at School
Glen Haven seeks to promote racial and social justice through an annual Black Lives Matter at School Week of Action and by educating staff, students, and the community on the guiding principles of Black Lives Matter.

Professional Development for Staff
Glen Haven staff engage in meaningful and on-going professional learning via monthly Equity PLC (Professional Learning Community) meetings and other staff professional development opportunities designed to enhance and develop staff cultural proficiency, skills with culturally responsive teaching, and promote antiracist teaching in every classroom. Tools and resources for professional learning include books, articles, videos, personal and professional reflection, and discussion protocols.

GHES Suggestion Form for Books to Promote Ethnic Studies and Cultural Diversity
Please use this form to suggest books that you would like to see in our school and classroom libraries that celebrate and affirm the identities of our Black and Hispanic students, promote the 13 principles of Black Lives Matter at School, or teach Black history and ethnic studies. You may also choose to share resources you think the school may want to consider in future lessons for students and provide other suggestions and ideas for our school to deepen and sustain our commitment this work.
