Restorative Justice
What is Restorative Justice?
Restorative Justice is an approach to building community, self-care, and conflict resolution. It's a social justice platform that allows students to:
- Actively engage and problem-solve physical, psychological, social and disciplinary issues that affect themselves and the community.
- Take responsibility for their actions.
- Work with those affected to restore and/or repair the members and community who were harmed as a result of those actions.
The Harmony Hills Pledge / 3 School Rules
We are the Harmony Hills Huskies and today we pledge to be Responsible, Respectful and Safe in everything we do.
Dojo Points
Staff members can acknowledge positive behaviors by handing out dojo points to students. Students can earn these when they demonstrate positive behaviors in the classroom, the lunchroom, the playground, the hallways, and all other areas of the school. Students collect these dojo points and can exchange them for classroom rewards such as Show and Tell, Fluffy Friend, Slipper Time, Visit another Classroom, Switch Seats, etc. Your child's teacher will send home a code for you to connect to their classroom dojo account. Once you are connected, you will be able to see how your child is doing and send messages to the teacher!
Classroom Fast Track
In addition to individual pawprints, whole classes can earn rewards as well. Classes will move their husky around the track earning smaller prizes around the way. Classes can move spaces by being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe. Once a class moves all the way around their track, they will earn classwide rewards such as Pajama Day, Jam Session, Computer Time, or a Popcorn Party.
