Weekly Update for the Week of March 10

Good evening Cavalier Families. This is Ms. Adamson–Proud Principal of Kennedy High School–with your March 10th weekly update!

It is not late for your student to sign up to play Boys’ and Girls’ Lacrosse or Baseball. Please register your child via ParentVue. If you have questions, email Athletic Specialist Amanda Twele @ Amanda_L_Twele@mcpsmd.org

Students will participate in an Advisory this Wednesday, March 12th and complete a survey to gather feedback on the learning climate, culture, safety, security, and extracurricular activities at Kennedy High School. Student responses are confidential. You can find the directions for students and the survey link here

The Spring Sports’ Parent Meeting will take place on Thursday, March 13th, at 6:30 PM in the Kennedy Auditorium. Please join us.

We are continuing our practice of Hall Sweeps when students are late to class. Students who are tardy will receive a lunch detention when they are late to class. Please help by getting your student to school on time and by encouraging them to go straight to class when the bell rings.

On Wednesday, March 19th, all students in the 11th grade will take the SAT for free. All students should report to school at the regular time, and students will be directed to appropriate activities, while 11th graders take the SAT. Please see details on the website or in the SMORE newsletter for details.

We are hosting a Family Market, this Thursday, March 13th, at 2:30, just in front of the Kennedy auditorium. Please remember to bring your own bags.

The Hall of Fame and 60th Anniversary celebration dinner will take place on March 22nd.  Please look on the school’s website. We are still accepting donations, as well. All of the information to purchase tickets, to contribute goods to the silent auction, or to make a donation can be found on the website.

Please continue to remind your students to wear their ID everyday (to avoid being charged for a new one).  Remember that we are a closed campus, and the IDs help us to ensure that only our students are in the building, especially during lunch.

Thank you all for your support; and remember, we are stronger together.
