Mission Statement
The Department of Health and Human Services, School Health Services (SHS) in partnership with MCPS provides services to assure the health, safety, and well-being of students at Luxmanor Elementary School in the health room.
School Health Services include assessment of health needs of students, sick and emergency care and first aid, monitoring immunization compliance, administering medications and treatments to students, who have physicians orders, maintaining student health records, providing crisis intervention, health counseling, health education-promotion, nurse case-management and referral. School Health staff assists families of eligible uninsured students to enroll in the Maryland Children's Health and Care for Kids program.
Illness Policy
If students have a fever, diarrhea or are vomiting, they must stay home from school. In order to return to school, they must be fever and symptom free for at least 24 hours. Please remember you must call you child in sick to the office and also send a note when your child returns to school.

Medication at School
If your child requires prescription medication while at school, it must be administered through the health room. Authorization to administer the medication must also be on file in the health room. You can download the forms below.
Authorization to Provide Prescription Medication - This form can be used of oral medications, eye drops, inhalers, etc...
Authorization to Provide Medically Prescribed Treatment- This form can be used for treatments such as nebulizers for asthma
Emergency Care for the Management of a Student with a Diagnosis of Anaphylaxis- This form is used for children who require epipen
