Health and Physical Education - PE/Health Overview
Grade 7 Family Life & Human Sexuality and Disease Prevention parent letter.
Grade 8 Family Life & Sexuality Parent Letter. All students are required to bring in a signed permission form before the start of the Family Life and Human Sexuality/Disease Prevention Unit. Student who do not return a permission form or opt-out of instruction will be sent to the media center with an alternate graded assignment.
Participation Policy ~ All students are expected to participate fully in the assigned activities each day.
Non-Participation ~
- Temporary - 1-5 consecutive days: A note from parent/guardian required on the first day the student is to be excused.
- Long Term - 6 or more days: A completed Physical Education Physician Contact Form is required.
PE UNIFORMS
Students must be dressed appropriately to participate in class activities. Students are required to have a complete change of clothing to be used specifically for Physical Education class: white sleeved tee shirts and blue shorts with a minimum inseam of 4”. A sweatshirt and sweatpants are recommended to be worn in cooler weather. Clothing worn to school may not be used for PE class. It is critical that students take home PE clothing weekly for laundering. Students should also bring non-aerosol deodorant. Good hygiene makes a stink-free locker room.

Families have the option to purchase NBMS logo PE Uniform apparel from our vendor, A1Uniforms. Tee-shirts, shorts, and sweats are available to order year-round. All orders are placed online and will be delivered directly to your home. PURCHASE PE UNIFORMS HERE. On your first visit to the website, create an account and use the word "phoenix" where it requests your group password.

In order to be permitted to attend tryouts for any sports team, there must be a current
on file with the Coach.
If there is no form, students will not be permitted to attend try-outs. This is MCPS policy.
