Concert Choir is open to all students in grades 9 – 12. Students enrolled are committed to the study of musical performance representing a wide variety of styles. The class includes an introduction to fundamental singing techniques. The students who participate in choir will be enriched socially, while further enhancing skills in teamwork, music literacy, critical listening, and cultural exploration. Students occasionally rehearse outside the school day and participate in evening/weekend events. There is no audition required to be in this ensemble.
A Capella Choir also called, QOverture, is an auditioned and select group of students in grades 10 – 12. This select group performs all styles of choral music with an emphasis on Pop, Theatre, and Vocal Jazz. All students should be able to perform as soloists and will be required to do movement or dance. This ensemble performs several concerts a year both at Quince Orchard and in the community.
Chamber Singers is an auditioned and select group of students in grades 10-12. It is an auditioned group of approximately 20-30 singers that performs all styles of choral music with an emphasis on classical music sung in as many as five different languages. Students occasionally rehearse outside the school day and participate in evening/weekend events. This ensemble of students, grades 10-12, performs several concerts a year both at Quince Orchard and in the community.
