RMS Student Athletics
All students are encouraged to participate in one or more after school activities. Except for interscholastic sports teams, limited by MCPS Policy to students in grades 7 and 8 only, all students in grades 6, 7, and 8 are welcome to participate in all other activities.
Fall Sports: Cross Country & Softball -Intramural for 7th & 8th Graders
If your 7th or 8th grade child wishes to participate/tryout for cross country or softball this fall, registration for middle school fall sports is now open. Parents/Guardians must register for fall sports on ParentVUE. Please click the link to view a video with instructions on how to register on ParentVUE.Your child must have an up-to-date physical on file. Once a physician has completed the Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation for Athletics form (SR-8), linked here in English and Spanish, you may upload it to ParentVue (or email it to Mr. Asbacher). Vaccination for COVID-19 is strongly recommended for student-athletes but is no longer required.
Tryouts are projected for Tuesday, September 12th after school, from 3:15 pm - 4:20 pm. Students will need a ride or can ride the activity bus. If a parent/guardian is not present by 4:25 pm to pick up their child, the child will be placed on their respective activity bus. We are excited for the 2023 season.
Please email Mr. Asbacher with questions.
