May 2023 AP & IB Test Calendar
All students taking IB exams, please be sure to review the IB Notice to Candidates.
STEP 1: REGISTRATION (DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 1, 2022)
- Students sitting in courses designated “AP” are required to join the My AP Classroom for each AP course in which they are enrolled. By joining the portal, students have access to College Board-created materials, and are automatically registered for the AP exam. AP teachers provided instructions in class. Students who join their My AP classrooms after November 15th will be assessed a $40 late fee if still wanting to take the AP exam.
- Students not sitting in an AP class, but who still wish to take an AP exam, must enroll in My AP Classroom using the appropriate self-study join code.
- Students are reminded to enter information very carefully. Be sure to enter the student’s MCPS ID number. Use a personal e-mail address to register so you may access score reports after graduation.
STEP 2: PAYMENT (DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 1, 2022)
- AP exams will cost $101 this year.
- AP exam fees will be posted to the student’s School Cash Online account. Here are the directions for using School Cash Online. There is a two day lag time between when a student registers for an exam and when the fee posts to the account.
- AP exams not paid for by November 1, 2022 will not be ordered.
- Exams ordered between November 16 and March 15 incur a $40 late order fee in addition to the exam fee.
- If a student decides after the November ordering deadline not to take an exam that was ordered, the charge is $40 per exam instead of the full exam fee. The $40 fee applies to any unused or canceled exam, including an exam ordered for a student who qualifies for a College Board fee reduction. It’s important to tell the AP coordinator if a student decides not to take an exam as soon as possible.
FEE WAIVER (DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 1, 2022)
- Exam fees can be reduced for those that qualify. Please fill out this fee waiver tied to state guidelines for family income.
- After completing the waiver form please wait for e-mail notification to pay the reduced amount via School Cash Online.
ADDITIONAL AP EXAM INFORMATION
- Students with documented disabilities may be eligible for accommodations for AP exams.
