Rockville High School

The mission of Rockville High School, with its diverse population, challenging academic programs, and rich extracurricular opportunities, is to graduate individuals who are prepared for post-secondary education and careers. In an atmosphere of respect for cultural differences and individual uniqueness, students and staff work together to create a climate that encourages intellectual growth and develops transferable skills by actively collaborating with members of our local, state, national and international communities, we at Rockville High School strive to ensure that our students will become lifelong, independent learners and productive citizens.

Rockville High School is located in suburban Washington, DC, in Rockville, Maryland. Rockville is a residential community of about 50,000. It is also the high tech and biotech center and county seat of Montgomery County. Rockville High School is an ethnically diverse comprehensive high school with grades 9, 10, 11 and 12. The school opened in 1968 and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and by the Maryland State Department of Education.

School programs include the Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, Project Lead the Way Pre-Engineering Academy, and the Journalism Academy. In addition, Rockville High School offers 19 Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The AP Diploma is awarded to students who complete five AP courses in three subject areas and earn a score of 3 or better on each exam. Our 2010 It's Academic Team won the D.C. Metropolitan Area and Regional Championships. RHS ranked #286 on the Newsweek Challenge Index.
