We are so excited to welcome each of you to the Wildcat Family!  Middle school is full of new experiences, friends, opportunities, learning, and fun!  One of the most exciting and special events in 6th grade is the Outdoor Education program.  This is a 3 day 2 night trip that focuses on experiential learning while learning about our environment.  This year, we will be going to Camp Letts in Edgewater, MD (near Annapolis).  Students will be separated into two sessions.  Session 1 is October 2 – 4 and Session 2 is October 4 – 6.  This is a required program for all our 6th graders and it will be one of your best memories!  Students will receive their session # the first week of school.

In June, we held a meeting to provide an overview of the program and distribute informational packets and get parent volunteers fingerprinted (YES we need more!).  Here is the information that was shared at the meeting:

Informational packets:  English and Spanish

OE Parent Meeting Slideshow:  English and Spanish

All money and paperwork are due September 15th

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Lorie Quinn directly.  All volunteers must have an MCPS background check and be fingerprinted.  Due to the time it takes for these items to be completed, parents must complete all of these requirements no later than August 15th.

Payments must be made using the School Cash Online (SCO) system.  If you have not set up your School Cash Online Account using the SCO Pin # that was emailed to you last year, please contact Lorie Quinn.  The link to the SCO:  https://www2.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/schools/rockyhillms/   Scroll down and on the left under Quick Links you will see School Cash Online (SCO).

Partial payments can not be made online.  Please contact Mrs. Quinn to make arrangements.  If you need a scholarship for the Outdoor Education Program, please contact Lorie Quinn to make arrangements.

Mrs. Quinn will be sharing additional information about the Outdoor Education program at the Wildcat Welcome on August 24th!  See you then!!
