Our Work

USDE_SecretaryThe Title I Unit implements Title I mandates of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015 especially as it relates to the Title I requirements.

The Title I Unit provides customized support to assist schools with the completion of all requirements of the Title I, Part A grant including support for:

  • School Improvement Planning
  • Data analysis to make informed decisions
  • Accessing strategies and resources
  • Parent engagement committees
  • Determining fund distribution for school and community benefit
  • School level parent engagement plans
  • Professional development for staff to include working with parents and families as partners
  • Parent Community Coordinators
  • Extended learning such as summer learning and afterschool programs

Signature Programs

We have several signature programs that are unique to Title I 

  • Primary Talent Development Coach.  Each school is assigned a coach to support learning that encourages creative and critical thinking
  • Dreambox Learning:  Each school has a license to access Dreambox.  Our team supports staff with training and data analysis
  • Innovative Schools:  Title I supports two schools who are implementing an innovative calendar as well as innovative programs
  • Parent Community Coordinator:  Some schools have an additional staff member to support parent and family engagement
