You can help slow the spread of COVID-19 by practicing the safety guidelines recommended by the CDC. Click here for more information.

  • Employees should self-administer a temperature screening each day before reporting to the workplace.
  • Employees who have COVID symptoms should notify their supervisor as soon as possible, stay at home, and contact their healthcare provider.
  • Sick employees should follow the steps recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Employees should not return to the workplace until the criteria for discontinuing home isolation are met, in consultation with healthcare providers.
  • Employees who are well but have a sick family member at home with COVID-19 should notify their supervisor and follow the CDC's recommended precautions.
  • The CDC recommends wearing a cloth face covering as a measure to contain the wearer's respiratory droplets and help protect their coworkers and members of the general public.
  • Wash your hands frequently using soap and hot water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water aren't available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol.
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue, your sleeve, or your elbow every time you cough or sneeze.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Avoid close contact with anyone who is sick.
  • Maintain physical distancing by staying at least 6 feet away from others.
  • If you need to travel to another MCPS site during the day, consider driving separately instead of carpooling with coworkers.
  • Follow all guidelines as posted in MCPS facilities.
  • Remember that wearing a mask is optional.
