Individual Membership Option
for Using Bookshare 

Getting Started 

Providing an Individual Membership allows eligible students to search for books on their own. They can download any book they like in any format they choose including for use on their personal devices. 

If you and/or the student have not used Bookshare before, you may want to get started with Option A or B instead. You can also call HIAT for help setting up your MCPS student. 

If the Student is Already a Member

1. Log in to Bookshare 
2. Click on My Bookshare and then Members 
3. Check the box next to the student name that needs an Individual Membership 
4. At the bottom of the member list under More Actions, choose Add Individual Membership. 
5. Follow the prompts under Option 1.
