Human Resources → Transfer Information → Paraeducator Transfer Process Overview
The transfer process will apply to regular and special education Paraeducators; ESOL, Title I, and Head Start Paraeducators; and instructional data assistants. The transfer process occurs each spring to ensure placements for involuntary transfers and Paraeducators who will have their hours reduced for the next school year.
The 2012–2013 staffing calendar for Paraeducator positions outlines the important dates, times and a schedule of transfer activities. The procedures reflect the SEIU Local 500 contract, page 49, Article 19, R2. Principals will receive their staffing allocation Tuesday, March 6, and will notify Paraeducators who will be involuntarily transferred or who will have their hours reduced from March 12 through March 30. Principals will also provide information about the involuntary Transfer meeting.
Principals will communicate changes to the Office of Human Resources by March 30, using the Paraeducator Involuntary Transfer/Hour Request form 425-9A.
