Digital Readiness Check 3/12/25

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Richard Montgomery High School will participate in a Digital Readiness Check to prepare all 11th grade students for the March 19 SAT administration. All 11th grade students will need to ensure they have their MCPS issued Chromebook to prepare technology and check personal information prior to testing day.  We will follow a special schedule on Wednesday that is provided below. All students will go to their homeroom class after first period.  All 9th, 10th, and 12th grade students will participate in an advisory lesson in homeroom during the Digital Readiness Activity.

SAT Day 3/19/25

On March 19, Richard Montgomery High School will be administering SAT testing for all 11th grade students. Students not participating in a test administration will participate in Rocket Refresh activities and then will attend their regularly scheduled classes after the testing administration has concluded. A schedule is provided below.

  • Did you miss the senior parent meeting on February 28? Check out the slides that were shared with families at meeting here.
  • Richard Montgomery's administrative team held grade level town hall meetings to set the tone for the school year. Our goal is to share clear expectations with students as well as updates on processes and support for the 24-25 school year. Slides from the 9th grade meetings are here, 10th grade meetings are here
  • Applications for Free & Reduced-Price Meals (FARMS) are now available for the new school year online. Apply online NOW so students receive free meals on the first day of school! This is the fastest way to get your meal benefits when school starts and avoid long processing times. MCPS encourages all families who may be eligible, to apply. To receive this benefit, a new FARMS application must be completed every school year. Fill out your application now at: www.MySchoolApps.com
  • Maryland State requires students receive vaccinations on a schedule deteremind by the CDC in order to attend preschool programs and schools. Students may be exempt from these requirements if a healthcare provider states that the vaccinations are medically contradicted or for religious objections. Families can use the following link to view the 2024-2025 Vaccination Requirements from the state as well as vaccination clinics in the county.

  • Make sure to check Ms. Deeny's Friday RMHS weekly newsletter for important updates. Parents should be checking their email for school updates. The RMHS Weekly Update is sent out Friday evenings to parents and posted to Canvas for students. You can find archived newsletters here.
  • Understand the different emergency preparedness responses that MCPS uses (shelter in place, lockdown, etc.) as well important system wide emergency management phone numbers on the Department of Safety and Security website
  • Need to add money to your students lunch account? Use the meal payments link to find out how to apply for free & reduced lunch, add money to your students SNAP account, and other important food and nutrition information.
